free plans: how to make a Miniature Dry Garden |
|
Basic Description | Here is a free plan for a miniature version of the traditional dry rock garden. These gardens have been perfected over the centuries as centers of quiet reflection. In keeping with the simple elegance of these gardens, we show you how to make the entire project, including the rake, out of a single piece of wood. These make perfect gifts or stress-relieving aids. |
This step is optional. We used a roundover bit to provide some edge detail to the garden. We set up the bit in a router table and ran the edges of the wood along the bit's bearing. Then we flipped the wood over and repeated the process (When you flip the board over, confirm that the bearing has a flat surface to ride on, otherwise you will create a small step in the edge of the board). |
