free plans: how to make the Complico Paper Folding Puzzle |
|
Basic Description |
'Complico' means to fold together in Latin, and that is exactly what you will do with this simple but ingenious project. After quickly printing and preparing any of the many puzzles that we have provided, you are ready to try and solve them. Beware, however, the difficulty varies from joyfully simple to satisfyingly tricky to devilishly complex! This is a perfect game to fold up and keep in your pocket so that is ready to play whenever you have some spare time. |
Tip: sometimes it is more difficult to solve the puzzle when you are working in one particular direction: in these cases try working backwards and solve it from back to front. So instead of solving 'creations' from the C to the S, try solving it the other way around. In even more difficult cases, you may discover that it is best to solve the orientation in the middle of the word and work your way from there. Background information: I discovered this concept in an obscure book that I found in a public library while traveling in Southeast Asia. Supposedly, it was invented by a monk several centuries ago to teach his pupils the fierceness of the devil. Since then, I have never seen any mention of it anywhere despite thorough searches. We are pleased to be able to revive this nugget of forgotten ingenuity. |
